The fall semester is in full swing, with many people seeking to grow in their faith and serve others through various programs and ministries at SCS. We praise God for the hunger of the participants and the generosity of the facilitators! Hurricane Francine threw us a curve ball in September, requiring the rescheduling of the women’s ACTS retreat and the cancellation of the archdiocesan priest convocation. May we welcome disruptions to our plans with the faith that God’s plan is better yet, and have eyes open to see his hand at work in unanticipated circumstances. “I know that You can do all things, and that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted.” Job 42:2
Please say the Parish Prayer daily for the following intentions in October:- For all those facilitating and participating in the Rescue Project and Alpha retreats, that they have a transformative experience of God’s love.
- For participants in the support ministries at SCS (NAMI, Grief Support, Courage, Encourage, Surviving Divorce), that they experience the compassion and comfort of Jesus through the gift of community as they navigate life’s challenges.
- For our parish fair, that it be an opportunity for fellowship and the strengthening of the bonds of our faith community, and for good weather.
- That all souls, especially those in the SCS geographical parish and those who protest at SCS, be converted to faith in God through Jesus Christ.
- For the SCS parish family, that in the spirit of charity we weather the inconveniences of our construction projects with patience, flexibility, and a sense of humor; and for protection of all during hurricane season.
- That the success of the capital campaign allows SCS to better serve the needs of parishioners and the community, for the smooth progress of all building projects underway in the parish, and for the safety of all who are working on the construction.
- For the protection of our parish and our priests, deacons, sisters, staff and ministry leaders at SCS as they work to facilitate in our parish the growth of a culture that nurtures the development of disciples of Jesus; for Dcn. Don Richard as he continues treatment for cancer; and for Fr. Ronnie, that he may be filled with Christ’s grace and peace.

St. Catherine of Siena Parish Prayer
God Our Father, we thank you for our parish community of St. Catherine of Siena. Thank you for the many blessings that you have given us, but especially for calling us to serve as disciples of your son, Jesus Christ. As we gather today, we ask that you send your Holy Spirit to guide us in everything that we do. Transform our hearts and lead us closer to you. Help us always to seek to be a parish that is Centered on Christ and Ablaze with Love. We ask all of these things in the name of Jesus, and through the intercession of our Blessed Mother. St. Catherine of Siena, pray for us!
