God Our Father, we thank you for our parish community of St. Catherine of Siena. Thank you for the many blessings that you have given us, but especially for calling us to serve as disciples of your son, Jesus Christ. As we gather today, we ask that you send your Holy Spirit to guide us in everything that we do. Transform our hearts and lead us closer to you. Help us always to seek to be a parish that is Centered on Christ and Ablaze with Love. We ask all of these things in the name of Jesus, and through the intercession of our Blessed Mother. St. Catherine of Siena, pray for us!
Please join us in praying for the following specific intentions in connection with St. Catherine of Siena striving to become a parish "Centered on Christ, Ablaze with Love."
JANUARY 2021
We are grateful for the beautiful Christmas liturgies that brought us together (whether in person or virtually) to worship God for the gift of the incarnation. As we enter a new year, we do so bolstered by the hope that our faith provides. “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” Jn 1:5. Jesus is born!
Please say the St. Catherine Prayer daily in January for the following intentions:
*For our parish community, that during this archdiocesan Year of the Eucharist we may experience growth in our faith in and appreciation for the mystery of the Mass and the presence of Jesus in the Eucharist; and that we may emulate the quiet, steadfast faith of St. Joseph during the Year of St. Joseph declared by Pope Francis.
*For all members of the school faculty and staff who will attend the faculty retreat this month, that they may receive a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit that energizes them for the second half of the school year.
*For the More to Life ministry at SCS, that through its efforts all those impacted by mental illness receive comfort and support and know the love that God has for them.
*For all participants in Alpha 7, that they may have a life-changing encounter with Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.
*For an end to racism and for peace and healing in our country and in the Church.
*For an end to the pandemic; for all those suffering as a result, physically, psychologically, emotionally, or financially, especially the elderly, that they may find complete healing, peace and hope, and that they may see the love of Jesus in and through the SCS community; and for prudence for those in leadership.
*For the priests, deacons, staff and ministry leaders at SCS, that they may work to develop cultures of prayer, teamwork, and true discipleship in our parish, and that they are protected in their work; and for Fr. Ronnie, that he may be filled with Christ's grace and peace.
