Acts of the Apostles is a New Testament book that tells about the apostles’ work to spread the good news of Jesus after his death, resurrection, and ascension into heaven. Acts ends with Chapter 28. Recognizing our mission to continue the work begun by the apostles, the Acts 29 Committee operates to coordinate parish opportunities for spiritual growth, faith formation and evangelization so that our parishioners can be formed and sent out as activated disciples. Acts 29 meets quarterly and includes representatives from all parish ministries offering spiritual growth, faith formation, and evangelization activities. The Finance Council is a group of parishioners who advise the pastor in the financial administration of the parish. The Finance Council prepares and oversees the annual parish budget and assists in the effort to be good and responsible stewards of God’s many gifts. Members of the Finance Council are appointed by the pastor and meet quarterly. The Liturgy Committee plans and coordinates all parish liturgies. Using the liturgical documents of the Church, the approved guidelines of the Archdiocese and with the guidance of the Pastor, the Liturgy Committee promotes liturgical awareness and formation in the parish so that all members of the con- gregation are led to a full conscious and active participation in the liturgy. Matthew 25 is a social outreach committee that is comprised of a represenative from each parish ministry involved in social outreach efforts. The group meets quarterly in order to share what each group is doing so that we can work together on outreach efforts and to help publicize opportunities for people to help. The aim of this commission is to strengthen our outreach efforts as a parish in order to respond to Jesus' call to serve the poor and needy. For more information, contact Sheryl Brown.
The Parish Council is comprised of parishioners who advise the Pastor to help set direction, goals, and policy of the parish while keeping the overall pastoral needs of the parishioners in mind. The Pastoral Council also oversees the implementation of St. Catherine’s Pastoral Plan. The St. Catherine of Siena School Board meets quarterly to advise the principal and pastor in matters pertaining to the school.
